James M. "Mickey" Connolly, 53, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 in the Valley Hospice North Care Center in Steubenville, OH.Mickey was born on August 6, 1955, son of the late James V. and Ruth H. (Haynes) Connolly. Mickey was employed by First Energy working at the Bruce Mansfield Plant in the Maintenance Dept. for over 30 years. He was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto. Mickey enjoyed taking leisurely cruises on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was a member of the Hog Group. He supported the Polk Parents Group and ACHIEVA Special Needs Group in Beaver, PA. Mickey was an avid sports fan who followed the Steelers, Pirates and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He loved to golf where he scored numerous holes-in-one.Mickey is survived by his wife, Mary Lu (DeRose) of home whom he married on Sept. 4, 1993; two sisters, Kay (Jim) Murray of Perrysburg, OH, and Lisa (Doug) Connolly Maher of Norton, OH; one brother Kevin (Susan) Connolly of Toronto, OH; he was a beloved father and grandfather figure in the lives of Nicole and Tim Thomas and their children Maura and Timothy Thomas. He is also survived by his faithful dog Jake and several nieces and nephews and great nieces.Visitation for Mickey will be held on Saturday evening from 6-9 pm and again on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Mickey's Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Monday, May 18 at 10am at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto where there will be visitation from 9am up until the time of the Mass at 10am. Father Thomas Vennitti will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.
