James A. Jimmy Fillinger, 63, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away Friday Dec. 9, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Jimmy was born Feb. 19, 1953 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Oswald J. and Mildred (Fletcher) Fillinger.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. where he worked in the BOF. Jimmy was a member of the USW Local Union #1190 in Steubenville, OH. He was a graduate of Brooke High School and a member of the Wellsburg Moose Lodge #1564.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles S. Fillinger.

Jimmy leaves behind his wife, who have been together for 23 years, Karen A. (Madigan) Fillinger; his three daughters, Kristy J. (Chris) Jones, Nicole L. Fillinger and Renee A. (Duane) Whear all of Wellsburg; his brothers, Paul (Mary) Fillinger and Johnny (Lisa) Fillinger both of Wellsburg, his sister Debbie Siragusano of Richmond, OH, his brother David (Darlene) Fillinger of Wellsburg and Richard Fillinger of Pelzer, SC. He also leaves behind his four grandsons, Michael and Jack Jones, Rocco Maguschak and Parker James Whear and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Jimmy will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 2-6 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto, OH. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rex Bates officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the funeral service at the Wellsburg Christian Church.

Memorial donations may be directed to his four grandsons to go towards their educations.
