Obituary

James B. 'Jim' George,80of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Sunday morning in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Jim was born on May 25, 1927 in Steubenville, son of the late Jessie K. and Wilma Myers George.

Jim was the retired owner and founder of Photography by George, Inc., the business that Jim established on Aug. 20, 1964 on Main St. in Wintersville. To his many Brides and Seniors, Jim George was 'Uncle Jimmy' as he connected with the theme as a member of the family. Jim is an Honorary Emeritus member of the Professional Photography Society of Ohio and has received various society and professional accolades. Jim's additional memberships include, Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of Ohio, was a past board member of the Triangle Photographers Assoc., former board member of the Goodwill Industries of Jefferson Co., past board member and past President of the Wintersville Chamber of Commerce, one of the original founders and member of the Wintersville Rotary Club, a member of the Steubenville Masonic Lodge # 691, and was a member of the 1st. United Methodist Church in Toronto.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by, a brother Richard 'Dickey' Blackburn of Steubenville, sisters, Gertrude Hartford of Berea, Ohio, Anna Marie Wisener and Alice Jimison both of Steubenville.Surviving are his wife of 57 yrs. Ruth Elswick George, whom he married on June 10, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio,Three sons, James W.(Karen) George of Pataskala, Ohio, Larry ( Denise ) George of Bloomingdale, Kirk ( Sally ) George of Toronto, five Grandchildren, Chad of Gahanna, Jessica and Mike of Toronto, Chris and Robin of Pataskala.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday 7- 9 pm. and on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St. in Toronto; where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at11:00 am. Calling before the service will take place at the Funeral Home from 10:00 am up til time of his service.Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate his service and burial will follow in UnionCemetery in Steubenville.
