James 'Jim'Green, 78, of Toronto, Ohio passed away Wednesday April 16, 2008 in Trinity Medical Center West. Jim was born April 14, 1930 in Toronto, son of the late Patrick Leo and Ethel Grizzell Green. Jim was retired from Titanium Metals Corp. in Toronto, where he worked in the inspection Dept., he was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, where he served on the Parish Council and was an usher. He belonged to the Catholic Knights of St. George and was Ohio Valley District Chairman, receiving their highest award, The Legion of St. George. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Toronto American Legion Post # 86, where he served as Finance Officer and the Assistant Baseball Business Manager. He was a member of the Ohio Valley Coin Association, where he served in nearly all of the officer positions and was awarded Life membership. He was a member of the Toronto High School Boosters Club and filmed basketball and football games for many years and was awarded a certificate from the Ohio High School Athletic Association for his service. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 in Germany. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Green Sinclair, Mary Green Wiseman and by his brother John Green. Surviving Jim are his wife Blanche ( Endicott ) Green, whom he married on Aug. 27, 1960, two daughters, Laura (Mark) Humbertson of Charlottesville, Va., Kathleen Green of Seattle, WA., and his sister, Barbara Green of Toronto. Jim's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Edgar Sanchez and his Staff and to the Nurses and Care providers at Trinity West. Friends and family may call on Friday evening April 18th, from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto. On Saturday morning additional visitation will take place at St. Francis Church on Findley St. in Toronto, from 9:00 am til Jim's Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 am. Msgr. Kurt Kemo will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Vigil service will be Friday evening at 7:45 pm.
