James N. Jimmy Hobson, Jr., 64, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 in the Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Jimmy was born April 6, 1956 in Steubenville, son of the late James N., Sr. and Clara (McFall) Hobson.

He was retired from Mountain State Carbons Coke Plant in Follansbee, WV. Jimmy loved to fish, hunt, farm and ride his motorcycle. He was a former member of ABATE and the Hopedale American Legion.

Jimmy leaves behind his wife, Sydney L. (Floto) Hobson whom he married Dec. 19, 1975; two daughters, Aubree (Rick) Donia of Millvale, PA and Corbin (Chris) Hoffman of Mingo Jct., OH; three grandchildren, Christian, Chandler and Clara Hoffman; his sister, Marilyn (Art) Miller of Wintersville, OH; nephew, Artie (Heather) Miller and niece, Jennifer (Chris) Carr both of Columbus; two sisters-in-law, Mona Logue and Marla Morland of Columbus, OH.

Family and friends will be received Friday, October 16 from 2 PM to 5 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH followed by his funeral service at 5 PM. Kenny Kourim will officiate and Jimmys burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
