James H. Jim McConnell, 65, of New Somerset, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Trinity Med. Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Jim was born April 27, 1949 in Steubenville, son of the late Howard and Mildred Yocum McConnell.

He was a lifelong member of the New Somerset Christian Church. Jim was retired from Timet Titanium Metals Corp., with 37 years of service, in Toronto where he was a millwright working in maintenance repair.

Jim was also a lifelong farmer of the family farm out along Yellow Creek.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother that he picked up along the way, Dan Swartz.

Jim leaves behind his wife, Marsha L. (Gill) McConnell whom he married Nov. 19, 1971; his three sons, Matt of Cleveland, OH, Mike (Michelle) of Rew, PA and Steve (Erica) of Cortland, OH; his two grandchildren who were the light of this life, Katelyn and David; his two other brothers that he picked up along the way, Tom Cattrell and Slim Pieniazek of Yellow Creek. Jim was also a beloved uncle leaving behind three nieces and two nephews.

Visitation for Jim will be held on Sunday, March 29 from 1-3 and 5-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Minto officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
