JANET AUDREY JOY 84 of Toronto, Ohio died Friday April 30th, 2004 in the Gable Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio. Janet was born November 30, 1919 in Farrington Gurney, England daughter of the late William Seward and Mabel Mary Gait Pierce. Janet was a Registered Nurse during World War II at the Royal United HospitalIn Bath; where she met her future husband, Charles Joy. Charles was a lab technician stationed at the American Hospital there. After the war ended, she came to the United States and married in March of 1947.Her husband Died in 1970. After she was widowed, she went back to work as a Nanny for the British Consulate in New YorkCity, helping him and his wife raise their 3 young children. When he was reassigned to Moscow in the SovietUnion, she accompanied the family and lived with them there for a year. Janet attended the Riverview Methodist Church in Toronto. In addition to her parents and her husband, Janet was preceded in death by: a Brother; Ronald Pierce,a Sister; Eileen Pierce, sisters-in-law; Hope ( Joy ) Tindall and Ruth ( Joy ) Heaton. Janet's surviving family are; Children; Mrs. Charles ( Linda ) McFerren of Toronto, Michael C. (Karen ) Joy of Medical Lake Wa., Grandchildren; Mrs. Jeffery ( Melinda ) Jones of Toronto, Charles Joy and Jonathan Joy both of Medical Lake, Wa.; Great-Grandchildren; Zane Jeffery Jones and Josey Michelle Jones. A sister; Gwenneth Stock of Hallatrow, Somerset, England. Janet's Family will receive family and friends on Monday evening from 6:00 pm. up til time of Janet's Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 7:00 pm. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc. 701 Findley St. Toronto, Ohio 43964. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate her Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Arthritis Foundation P.O.
