On Friday, October 19, 2018, Janet Frances Ayers Peoples, dedicated wife and loving mother of two, passed away at the age of 82 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Jan was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Arthur and Margaret Ayers. She received her bachelors degree in education from Bowling Green State University where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.

In addition to raising her two children, her passion was teaching kindergartners and preschoolers. Upon retirement, she moved to her beloved Hilton Head Island where she and her husband, John (Buzz), enjoyed many years of the ocean, beaches, wonderful weather and time with their many friends. She was known for her kind, gentle spirit and constant words of encouragement and appreciation of others. Her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as Nanny, enjoyed her crafts and love of all living things.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John (Buzz) Peoples who passed away October 8, 2018 and by her sister, Marge Ayers Brown. She is survived by her two children, John and Jennifer, their spouses Cathy and Kevin and her four grandchildren, Connor and Justin Peoples and Jordan and Reagan Pintar.

Jan was laid to rest next to her husband in Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH. Her arrangements were handled by the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.
