Jesse James Matheson, 65, of Amsterdam, Ohio passed away Wednesday August 14, 2013, at home. Jesse was born December 5, 1947 a son of the late Luretta Phillips King. Jesse served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from Sept. 1967 until Sept. 1969. He was a member of the Amsterdam VFW.Jesse worked most of his life in the cable TV business for his lifelong friend Marvin Bates. Jesse retired as Manager of the Blue Devil Cable Co. in Burgettstown, Pa. He also was associated with the Jefferson Co. Cable TV Co. in Toronto. Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Glenda Myers Matheson; children Lynn (Robert) Kaine of Cape Coral, FL., Jesse (Yasmin) Matheson, Jr. of Bruceton Mills, WV. and Richard Matheson of Shippensburg, Pa.; grandchildren Chelsey, Brooke, Kristina, Jessica and Liam. 8 brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friends Marvin Bates, JoAnn Connor and sister-in-law Sally Craven.A Memorial Service will be held with Full Military Honors at the convenience of his family. Inurnment will occur at Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto, OH. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff at DCI Dialysis.
