Joan E. Boyd, 76, of Dillonvale, Ohio passed away Thursday July 16, 2009 in the East Ohio Reg. Hospital. Joan was born July 10, 1933 in Bellaire, Ohio, daughter of the late L.W. and Regina Hemsley Lewis. Joan was a homemaker, a member of the Friends Church in Smithfield and the C.S.A. Lodge # 121 in Dillonvale. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Lewis, and by four brothers, Robert, Russell, Wilbur "Bud" and Joel Lewis. Surviving are her husband Ralph A. Boyd, whom she married on June 7, 1951, four daughters, Joanne (Bill) Bungard of Rayland, Ruth (Ben) Rosenzweig of Kearney, NE., Joy (Rick) Potter of W. Palm Beach, FL., Linda (David) Summers of Richmond, Ohio and one son Ralph E. (Darlene) Boyd of Rayland. Two sisters, Marjorie Layman of Harrisville, Pa.,and Barbara (Fred) Vandeborne of Smithfield. 14 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews and extended family. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 4-8 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 107 Hill St., Smithfield, Ohio. Additional visitation will take place on Monday at the Friends Church in Smithfield from noon up til time of Joan's service which will be a 1:00 pm. Rev.
