John T. 'Jack' Cernansky, 81 of Toronto, passed away Friday Nov. 21, 2008 at the Maplewood Manor in Toronto surrounded by his family.Jack was born Sept. 5, 1927 in Toronto, son of the late John and Elizabeth Hlavaty Cernansky. Jack was retired from the Ohio Edison Sammis Plant where he worked in the Maintenance Dept.He is a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, the Toronto American Legion Post #86 and was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II. Jack was an avid sports fan and was proud of his four sons, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and his family. Surviving are; his wife Elieen (Kramer) Cernansky, whom he married on May 20, 1950, four sons, Michael (Bridget) Cernansky, Larry Cernansky, Dan 'Baber' (Tammie) Cernansky and Rich (Kristen) Cernansky all of Toronto. His sister Mary Jane (James 'Buck') Kilmartin of Weirton. Nine Grandchildren; Ryan,Justin, Jared, Kiley, Zachary, Jordan, Ashley, Lance of the U.S. Air Force and Cody. Two Great-Grandchildren; Colin and Quinn.Friends and family may call on Monday from 6-8 pm. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm., at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto; where a Blessing service will be held on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am.; followed by Jack's Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 am. at St. Joseph R.C. Church, N. River Ave. in Toronto. Father Thomas Vennitti will be the Celebrant and Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
