John M. Craig, 73, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at his home.

John was born December 19, 1950, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late John E. Craig and Elsie F. (Crabs) Fetty. He was also preceded in death by two step-sons-in-law, Michael Mercer and David Lippert.

He was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson Union High School. John worked for over 30 years at Hancock Manufacturing in Toronto until the plant ceased operations. He then went to work for Koppers (Coke Plant) in Follansbee, WV, until its eventual closure.

John had a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, hunting, and working tirelessly around the house.

He leaves behind his wife, Iris H. (Wells) Craig, whom he married February 14, 1986; stepchildren, Brent Febo of Santa Barbara, CA, Lorena Mercer of Wellsburg, WV, and Erin Lippert of Toronto; sister, Laura Jean (Tony) Tiberio of Wintersville, OH; niece, Christianne (Josh) Benton of Bloomingdale, OH, and six step-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Friday, Aug. 23 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where John's funeral service will follow at 6 PM. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate, and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. www.jefosterfh.com
