John A. Gabathuler, 69, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born January 21, 1957, in Beaver Dam, WI, son of the late Eugene and Ardis (Lueck) Gabathuler. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda.

He retired from Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH, having worked in the maintenance dept. John was an avid Green Bay Packers fan who enjoyed coloring, painting, caring for his animals, fishing, and following all his grandson's sports games.

Surviving is his wife, Cindy L. (Daugherty) Gabathuler, whom he married April 28, 1979; son, Allen ‘Bub’ Gabathuler of Toronto; daughter, Crystal (Mike) Tice of E. Liverpool, OH; grandson, Andrew Gabathuler of Toronto; sister, Kathy (Jeff) Wolfgang, brother, Phil Gabathuler and his god mother, Betty Gallenbock, all of WI.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 15 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 am. Pastor George White will officiate and burial will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery in Hookstown, PA.
