IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John F.
Geddis, Jr.
September 25, 1947 – March 12, 2015
Honorable John F. Geddis, Jr., Mayor of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
John was born Sept. 25, 1947, son of the late, John F. Sr. and Jean Berarducci Geddis.
The quality of John's life was far reaching. After 38 years working in local government, John's life of public service connected the community in every arena. His passing will leave a hole in the hearts of everyone he touched and his dedication to civic service will be forever appreciated. He truly left the Gem City a better place and was the jewel of his community.
One might remember John as the jokester playing fun pranks, the intelligent politician, the gentleman with the beautiful blue eyes and wide cheek smile, or the community man who loved to serve and help others. But, the most distinguishing hallmark of John's life is that he was unmatched as a family man. His love and devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren will never be forgotten, and his legacy will live on through family who radiate his spirit.
John leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Kathryne E. Kitten Geddis; his daughter Mandy L. and husband Nick Capel; his son, John F. III and his wife, Nicole; his sister, Marilyn and her husband Ron Rinner; his five grandchildren, Connor, Brady, Gianna, Nina, and Mia; many more family members and dear friends.
There will be no services at this time. John's family is planning a memorial service to be held on the July 4th weekend in Toronto. More details will follow closer to the date of service.
John's arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto.
