John B. Harvilak, 70 of Toronto, Ohio passed away Tuesday April 7, 2009 in Trinity Medical Center West. John was born March 14, 1939 in Weirton, W.Va., son of the late John and Helen Shervinsky Harvilak. John is retired from Weirton Steel Corp. Sheet Mill, and a Catholic by faith. He is a member of the Toronto American Legion Post # 86, and the Toronto Eagles # 1276. John served his country serving in the Vietnam War in the U. S. Army. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Joann Moore. Surviving are his wife Patricia A. (Gallagher) Harvilak of home, his daughter Denise (Scott) Burkholder of Newark, his four grandchildren, Bradley, Olivia, Abigal and Grant Burkholder and his sister Berndine Mickowski of Wintersville.On Tuesday April 14th at 11:00 am. family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy with Mass for John at St. Joseph R.C. Church on N. River Ave. in Toronto. Father Thomas Vennitti will be the Celebrant and inurnment will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
