John A. "Poogie" Kertoy, 59, of Mentor, OH, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at his home. John was born on February 19, 1950 in Smithfield, son of the late John and Julia (Toth) Kertoy. John graduated from the Smithfield High School, class of 1968 and the Ohio University, class of 1972. He was an Army Reservist and worked at the Satra Alloy in Mingo, Jct, he then moved on to Lincoln Electric in Cleveland where he was presently employed. John is survived by an uncle, Joseph (Katherine) Toth of Avon, OH, an aunt Helen (Toth) Kohl of Canton, OH, an aunt Helen (Kertoy) Sipos of Dillionvale, OH, and an aunt Mary Kertoy of Bradley, OH. John is also survived by many cousins.Visitation for John will be held on Wednesday, May 6 from 12 noon to 1pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH where John's service will be held at 1pm with the Rev. Wilford Simeral officiating. Burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield.
