John W. Letusick, 92 of Co. Rd. 17 (Rush Run) Rayland, Ohio passed away Monday May 22, 2006 in the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio.He was born Feb. 9, 1914 in Rush Run, son of the late John and Mary Duda Letusick. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., refrigeration dept, retiring in 1976. He also operated a coal mine with his brothers in the 1930's and 1940's. He was an Army Veteran of W.W. II participating in the invasion of Normandy, and was a member of the disabled American Veterans, Chapter 117, in Bellaire, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Henry and infant brother Paul and by five sisters; Rose Brown, Stella Atsalis, Ann Bowers, Helen Dale and infant sister Rachael. Surviving are his wife Elma Hockenberry Letusick, whom he married on June 18, 1943, two sons; Myrl of Rush Run, Melvin (Mary Kay) of Yorkville; one daughter Jane (Bill) Brown of Rayland, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three sisters, Mary Hensley of Finleyville, Pa., Katherine Kendrick and Josephine (Jess) Hockenberry of Tyrone, Pa., one brother Louis Letusick of Egg Harbor, N.J. Friends and family may call on Wednesday May 24th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. at the J.E.FOSTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 107 Hill St. Smithfield; where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am. Pastor Robert Carson will officiate the service. Internment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
