John N. Nick Lukacena, 66, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 in the Weirton Med. Center of Weirton, WV.

Nick was born Sept. 12, 1950 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late George and Theresa (Luscko) Lukacena.

He graduated in 1968 from Toronto High School. Nick received his Bachelors degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Masters Degree of Education from Franciscan University.

Nicks career started as a science teacher with Toronto City Schools where he also coached football and track. He was currently employed by Water Unlimited and First Installations.

Nick had a love of traveling, watching football, mowing the grass, spending time with his family, and checking adventures off his bucket list.

He leaves behind his wife, Bonnie (Rodgers) Lukacena whom he married Sept. 12, 1990; his children, Kaylee Marie and Nicholas Hazlett Lukacena, Bryana (Keith) Polen and Daniel Z. (Jessica) Jenkins; his grandbaby, Julianne Louise Jenkins; his brothers, Tom (Donna) Lukacena and Larry (Mary Ann) Lukacena and his sister, Susan (Bob) Lawrence. Nick is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday, Nov. 20 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. His funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 21 at 11:30 am at the funeral home. His burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
