John Paraska Jr., 83, of Piney Fork, OH, passed away Nov. 1, 2014 in East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, OH.

John was born Jan. 17, 1931 in Piney Fork, son of the late John and Ann Kocisova Paraska.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and he served his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1953.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Gurgacz.

Surviving is his sister Helen Paraska of Piney Fork, his niece Faith Deptula and great-niece Adrianna Deptula both of Columbus, OH.

Visitation for John will be held on Wednesday Nov. 5, 2014 from 11 am until time of his funeral service at 12 noon at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. Rev. Wilford Simeral will officiate his service and burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield.
