John R. Pastre, Sr., 73, of Dillonvale, OH, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.John was born May 22, 1938 in Piney Fork, OH, son of the late John and Letizia (Modolo) Pastre. John was a member of the former St. Theresa Catholic Church in Piney Fork, OH; the Piney Fork American Legion Post 735; Adena Knights of Columbus and Pine Valley Sportsmans Club. John was a retired General Manager with the New Cooperative Company; he also served his country in US Army having served in the Korean Conflict and also during the Vietnam Era.In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joe and Louis Pastre, his sister Angelina Spontaneo and two infant sisters. John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise Kolar Pastre of home; his three sons, John Jr. of Ft. Wayne, IN, David of Piney Fork and Mark Pastre of Columbus, OH; his brother Emelio (Ruth) Pastre of Smithfield, OH and his sister Nancy (Ed) Wells of Piney Fork. John also leaves behind his two grandsons, Tony and Joey Pastre and several nieces and nephews.Family and friends will be received on Sunday, April 15 from 4-7pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH, where John's funeral service will be held on Monday, April 16 at 11am with the Msgr. John Kolesar as Celebrant.
