John R. Rich Pinkerton, Sr., 75, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Sunday Nov. 29, 2015 in the Life Line Hospital in Wintersville.

Rich was born Oct. 27, 1940 in Toronto, OH, son of the late Joseph H. and Vernes R. Kindle Pinkerton, Sr.

He worked as a truck driver for the International Mill Service in Mingo Jct. until his retirement and formerly worked for Smith Trucking Co. and the Toronto Paperboard Co.

Rich was Methodist by faith, a member of the Wintersville American Legion and served his country in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Margie Pinkerton who passed May 28, 2015; an infant son, Daniel James Pinkerton; three brothers, Charles, Joseph and William Pinkerton; two sisters, Judy Horvath and Virginia Viers.

Surviving are his children, Darlene (Albert) Jones of Wintersville, John R. (Lori) Pinkerton, Jr. of Toronto, Michael L. (Otilia) Pinkerton of Pittsburgh, PA and Darren K. (Eva) Pinkerton of Bloomingdale; two sisters, Margaret Glover of Denver, CO and Cathy Wilmer of Leavenworth, KS; six grandchildren, Jessica, Austin, Dylan and Wesley Pinkerton, Albert Jones, Jr. and Ryan Gross; two great-granddaughters, Lilliann and Savannah Kenney.

Visitation for Rich will be held on Wednesday Dec. 2, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Kelly Green officiating. Burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.

Military graveside honors will be provided by the Wintersville and Toronto American Legion.
