John E. Rebres, 77, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006 at TrinityMedicalCenter.He is survived by his wife Patricia (McLamara) who he married on October 23, 1954.He was also father to one son, Mark (Linda) of Toronto, and one daughter, Laurie (Bob) Minor of Salineville; one sister, Pauline O'Hara and two brothers, William and Robert Rebres all of Toronto. He was affectionately called "Poppy" to 9 grandchildren: Josh, Amber, Amanda, Bobby, Rachel, Ashley, Autumn, Annie and Azileigh; 5 great-grandchildren: Logan, Hailey, Jenna, Shayne and Gavin.John was proceeded in death by his parents Leslie and Susan (Hanas) Rebres, and brothers Frank, Andy, Les, George and Jim Rebres.John was retired from (1991) Titanium Metals Corp. of Toronto after 32 years of service in the strip mill.John was active in Boy Scouts for 50 years, earning The Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit, Doctorate of Commissioner Science, The Methodist Religious Award, The Order of The Arrow and the Wood Badge. He has also served on various boards for the First United Methodist Church in Toronto and was a graduate of Toronto High School, Class of 1946.Rebres served in the U.S. Army, where he was a Staff Sgt. From 1947-1951 in Germany and was a member of The First Infantry Division "The Big Red One."Friends may call on Saturday, November 18th, at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, from 1-4 and 7-9pm.A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 19th, at the First United Methodist Church in Toronto at 2pm with Rev.
