John W. Sweda, 69, of Helena, Ala., formerly of the Brunswick and Toronto, Ohio area's, passed away Wednesday at the St. Vincent Hospital East in Trussville, Ala.John was born Nov. 26, 1938 in Toronto, Ohio, son of the late John P. and Stella S. Halpate Sweda. John was a retired employee of the A. I. Root Co. in Medina, Ohio. He was a member of the St. John's Byzantine Catholic Cathedral in Parma, Ohio, was a life member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, and was a member of the Brunswick Kiwanis Club. John was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War Era. In Addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Henrietta (Urban) Sweda in 1994, and his sister Marcie Flynn. Surviving are his three daughters, Michele (Dean) Rogers of Helena, Ala., Joan (Larry) Crosser of Perrysburg, Ohio and Debra Sweda and her fianc Nick Nadkarni of Medina, Ohio.Three Grandchildren, David and Justin Rogers and Amber Crosser. Two Sisters, Barbara (Robert) Tress of Baltimore,MD., and Angie (Mike) Dishauzi of Weirton, W.Va.Friends and Family may call on Friday Dec. 28th. from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. at the J .E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto, Ohio; where a prayer service will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 am., provided by Father James Atkins.
