John William 'Bill' Wilson, 85, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville, OH.Bill was born February 5, 1928 in Steubenville, son of the late John E. and Virginia Call Wilson. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, he was an avid walker and square dancer and a Big Red fan for many years having graduated from there in 1946. Bill also was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. Bill leaves behind his wife, Shirley A. (Vinburg) Wilson of home whom he married on July 15, 1961; his brother George 'Fred' (Dinie) Wilson of Steubenville; his four nieces, Debbie (Gary) Newman of Wisconsin, Sandy (Ed) Perlosky of Steubenville, Pamela (John) Fithen of Steubenville, and Patty (Kenny) Straka of Toronto. Visitation for Bill will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19 from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 am. Rev. Delbert Lash will officiate the service and entombment will follow in Union Cemetery in Steubenville. Bill's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of Gables Care Center and the staff and Dr.'s at Life Line Hospital for their care, compassion and concern during Bill's illness.
