Joseph P. Cimino, 84, of Toronto, OH, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Joe was born Nov. 11, 1934 in Grotte, Sicily in Italy, son of the late Jasper and Frances (Morgante) Cimino.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, with over 40 years of service, as crane operator at the Follansbee Coke Plant.

Joes memberships included St. Paul Catholic Church in Weirton, St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto, the Weirton Moose and the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR).

He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. Joe was also an avid WVU Mountaineer and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Alicia (Pizzuti) Cimino in 2013.

Joe leaves behind his wife, Karen A. (Bletch) Cimino, whom he married March 9, 2018; his son, Joseph Cimino of Columbus, OH and daughter, Linda (John) Vargo of Wellsburg, WV; step-daughter, Frances (David) Spence of Burke, VA; his sister, Rose (John) DeFrank of Wintersville, OH; his brother, Sam (Dolores) Cimino of Wellsburg, WV; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, April 4 from 3 6 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Friday at 11 am at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate Mass and burial will follow in Highland Hills Cemetery in Follansbee, WV. Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

A Vigil Service will be held Thursday evening at 6 pm at the funeral home. Additional visitation Friday morning from 10 11 am in the rear of the church.
