Obituary

Joseph J. Demski 71 of Smithfield, Ohio passed away Thursday evening at the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville. Joe was born May 21, 1934 in Piney Fork, Ohio; son of the late Joesph and Mary Regiec Demski. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., where he worked in the Blast Furnace Dept. He is a member of St. Aldalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale, Pine Valley Sportsman's Club, and the Piney Fork American Legion. He is U.S. Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by three sisters; Hattie Kendziorski, Rose Bednar, and Angela Seivert. Surviving are; his wife Anna Hajny Demski, whom he married on Oct. 24, 1959, Two daughters; Susan Marie ( Wayne ) Strohaker and Linda Kay (Troy)Duke both of Columbus, Ohio. Four Grandchildren; Amber, Haley, Cameron, and Courtney. Three Sisters; Josephine (Paul) Chiaravalle of Cleveland, Helen (Paul) Lichtsinn of Fort Wayne, Ind., Agnes Stefanek of Conway Ak. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. at the J.E. FOSTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 107 Hill St. Smithfield, Ohio. Friends and family will also be received on Monday morning at St. Aldalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale from 9:15 am. up til his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 am. Msgr. John Kolesar will be the Celebrant and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Military graveside honors will be conducted the Piney Fork American Legion.
