Joseph C. Shane Sr. 84 of N. River Ave. Toronto,Passed away Thursday May 12, 2005 at his home. Joe was born May 13, 1921 in Steubenville, son of the late Joseph C. and Jessie Mills Shane. Joe was the founder and owner of Joseph C. Shane Plumbing and HeatingCo. in Toronto since 1947. Joe is a member of the Dennis Way Church of Christ in Toronto and was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of W.W. II. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by; his Sister; Florence Granatir and by his brother; Charles Shane. Surviving are; his wife of 61 years Ruth Gearin Shane whom he married on March 14, 1944, his daughter; Kathy Shane of home, three Sons;Joseph C.(Connie) Shane Jr. of Alabama, Scott(Ila)Shane and Jeff (Toni) Shane all of Toronto. A Sister, Wanda Sentich of Steubenville. 9 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc. 701 Findley St. Toronto; Where services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Glenn Young will officiate and burial will follow in Center Chapel Cemetery near Pleasant Hill. Full Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Toronto American Legion Post # 86.
