IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joshua A.
Bergles
July 4, 1990 – August 12, 2025
Joshua A. Bergles, 35, of Delaware, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH.
Josh was born July 4, 1990, in Steubenville, OH, son of Joseph A. and Lisa K. (Carnahan) Bergles.
Josh was a 2008 graduate of Edison Local High School. He later enlisted in the US Air Force. Josh was stationed at Grand Forks, ND, and went on two missions overseas in the UAE. He worked in Aviation Electronics, mainly with the Global Hawk, a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) specializing in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
After the Air Force, Josh moved to Kent, OH, where he went to work for Sheetz and later met his now fiancé, Renee. His career with Sheetz relocated him to Delaware where he was currently working as a Human Resource Coordinator for the Columbus region.
While at Kent Josh fell in love with nature and exploring the outdoors. He became an avid gardener, and his green thumb turned him into a modern-day plant whisperer, breathing new life into failing plants.
He also loved his family, and he looked forward to the annual Bergles family vacation to Holden Beach in NC. Josh would often wake up before the sunrise and head out to the beach and hunt for shark teeth.
Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Shirley (Smith) Carnahan; paternal grandparents, Jospeh A. Bergles and E. Judith (Willyard) Johnson, and one uncle.
In addition to his parents, Joe and Lisa of Toronto, Josh leaves behind his 3-year-old son, Jasper A. Bergles and his fiancé, Renee Sanders, both of Delaware; sister Whitney (Ryan) Tingler and their children, Cameron, Braylee and Fiona of Toronto; maternal grandfather, Donald E. (Donna) Carnahan of Irondale, OH, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial gathering for Josh which will be held on Sunday, August 17 from 1 to 4 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.
If you are considering sending flowers, please substitute for a house plant or other plants that can live long, with a little care, in Josh's memory. www.jefosterfh.com
