Joyce D. Firm, 76, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Monday July 1, 2024, in the Weirton Medical Center.

Joyce was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Hammondsville, OH, daughter of the late Orville and Macel (Landis) Workman.

She was a former employee of Walmart in Bryan, OH, where she oversaw the snack bar. Joyce was also a member of the House of Prayer in Brilliant, OH.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Casto, son Edgar Allen Firm, and two brothers.

Surviving is her husband, Samuel W. Firm, whom she married Oct. 15, 1965; three sons, Bruce (LaDawn) Firm of Toronto, OH, James (Jennifer) Firm of Bryan, OH, and Samuel Firm of Smithfield, OH; daughter, April (Eddie) Boterf of Defiance, OH, and son-in-law, Kerry Casto of Mingo Jct, OH; sister, Becky (Jack) Fisher of Weirton, WV; 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday July 6 from 11 am to 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where her funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Pastor Jack Jackson will officiate, and burial will be at the convenience of her family in the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.
