Juanita M. (Christian) Byers, 98, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 in the Gables Care Center in Hopedale, OH.

Juanita was born May 15, 1920 in Jewett, OH, daughter of the late Grant and Maudie (West) Christian.

She was a member of Shaffer Chapel AME Church in McIntyre, OH and a long time housekeeper in the Smithfield area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon who passed in 1975, her four sisters and one brother. Juanita leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is being planned for June 16 at 1 pm at the Shaffer Chapel AME Church with Rev. Melody Essex officiating. Her arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield. www.jefosterfh.com.
