Karen Elizabeth Metcalf, age 76, of Hilliard, OH, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026.
Born on September 29, 1949, in Steubenville, OH, Karen was the beloved daughter of James Louis Metcalf III and Elizabeth "Betty" Weltner. She was preceded in death by her loving parents.
She is survived by her husband, William Greguric; her children, Elizabeth Keidel (Daniel Keidel), Kara Mundorf-Metcalf (Christopher Mundorf), and James M. Metcalf (Laura Metcalf); her grandchildren, Sam Gregory Keidel, James Tate Keidel, Olivia Grace Metcalf, and Elizabeth James Metcalf; her siblings, James S. Metcalf (Renee Metcalf) and Stephanie Spitler; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Having taught for over 35 years, Karen dedicated her life to education, a calling that remained one of her greatest passions. She was known for her deep love for her grandchildren, her affinity for the beach, and her desire to be surrounded by family whenever possible, regardless of the occasion. Whether gathered for holidays, celebrations, or simple everyday moments, Karen treasured time spent with those she loved most.
Those who knew Karen will remember her attention to detail, calm demeanor, and unwavering strength. Her love, guidance, and support touched countless lives and will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 6, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, in Toronto, OH, where a Memorial Service for Karen will follow at 2 p.m.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caregivers, hospice staff, and nurses at Traditions of Hilliard for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during Karen's final days.
Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the many lives she touched.
