Kenneth C. Gorney, Sr., 72, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Ken was born March 3, 1944 in East Springfield, OH, son of the late Joseph and Sarah Young Gorney.

He was retired from First Energy Corp. Sammis Plant in Stratton, OH, where he worked as was a maintenance foremen.

Ken was a member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Steubenville, OH, a member of the Pilgrim Masonic Lodge # 691 in Steubenville, where he served as Past Master, a member of the 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, MSA and VSA.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Gorney and his sister, Victoria Plant.

Surviving is his wife, Jacqueline (King) Gorney, whom he married on July 13, 1963; his three sons, Kenneth C. (Lori) Gorney Jr., Fredric J. Gorney and Jason W. (Wendy) Gorney all of Toronto; two sisters, Barb Reese of Toronto and Linda (Burt) Crume of Gentry, AK; five grandchildren, Jessica, Kacey, Kelly, Christopher and Haley and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Ken will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. Masonic Services will take place Monday evening at 7 pm followed by 33rd Degree Services. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
