L. David Atchison, 69, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday May 18, 2016 in the Kindred Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

David was born March 21, 1947 in Pecos, TX, son of the late Laverne D. and Norine (Hood) Atchison.

David was retired after 24 yrs. of service from the U. S. Navy, serving his county during the Vietnam War as a Radio Man and he was a former P.O.W.

He was also a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 15036.

Surviving is his wife, Linda S. (Stacey) Atchison, whom he married on Oct. 27, 2001; three step-children, Rebecca Collins of Toronto, Amanda Sylvester of Ambridge, PA and Kristopher Coffman of Howard, OH; three sisters, Sandy Atchison of Bowie, TX, Julie Palmer of Lancaster, CA and Marilyn Daw of Chile, AZ; two brothers, Norman Atchison of Gallop, TX and Lee Upshaw of Denton, TX; his two grandchildren, Amiah Collins and Hadley Coffman; his niece Tracy Spivey and nephew Dudley Sparkman both of TX.

Following David's wishes he will be cremated and his remains will be honorably buried at sea by the U.S. Navy. Arrangements for David are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
