Larry D. "Pappy" Coil, 76, of Toronto, OH passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.Pappy was born on January 4, 1933 in Knoxville, OH, son of the late Benjamen H. and Ila Mae (Ward) Coil. He was a retired Scarfer in the 80" dept. of Wheeling Steel with 42 years of Service. Pappy had a love and passion for Toronto Baseball.In addition to his parents, Pappy was preceded in death by his brother Dean and his two sisters, Margie Coil and Annabel Heckathorn.Pappy is survived by his wife, Chariessa "Sam" (Gault) Coil of home whom he married on March 21, 1953; his son Rick (Terrie) Coil of Toronto, daughter Roxanne (Kevin) Gillis of Toronto, son Kevin (Ellie) Coil of Irondale and son Tim Coil of home; two brothers, Harold Coil of Tenn. and Lester 'Luck' (Neva) Coil of Toronto. Pappy is also survived by his four grandchildren, Ricky, Ryan and Dustin Coil and Jennifer Gillis. Pappy will also be sadly missed by all of his Margaret's Caf Breakfast buddies.Visitation for Pappy will be held on Friday, April 24 from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH where his funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 11am with the Rev. Bill Hibbs officiating.
