Larry Dean Cook, 84, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Wednesday May 15, 2013 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. Larry was born March 7, 1929 in Detroit, MI, son of the late Hubert and Geneva Jones Cook. Larry was a retired Administrator in the Detroit Public Schools. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University and received his Master's Degree from Wayne State University. Larry loved to play softball and also enjoyed golfing. Larry was preceded in death by two sisters, Norene Cook and Carolyn Johnson and by his brother-in-law Karl Johnson. Surviving are his wife Nancy (Baricska) Cook of their home. Larry is also survived by his six children, Robert (Susan) Cook, Deborah Dey and William Nelson, Lori (Tim) Eason, Donald and Robin Cook, Cynthia (Robert) Barker and Douglas (Carla) Cook all of Michigan. He also is survived by two step-sons, John and Angel Fabry Jr. of Michigan and Steve and Anne Fabry of Maryland; twenty two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation for Larry will be held on Saturday May 18, 2013 from 2 - 5:30 pm, at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 107 Hill St. Smithfield; Larry's Life Celebration Service will begin at 5:30 pm with the Rev. James Woods officiating.
