Larry J. Greene, 80, of Rayland, OH, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Larry was born May 19, 1940, son of the late Hollis and Vera (Holtsclaw) Greene.

He was a retired lineman with over 30 years of service with AEP. Larry also was a Veteran of the US Navy and he retired from the Naval Reserves.

He was a graduate of Smithfield High School and his memberships included the Smithfield Christian Church and the Piney Fork American Legion. Larry loved to fish, hunt and farm his land known as Greenes Ponderosa and The Other Farm.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Tyra (Core) Greene and his son, Todd Greene.

Larry leaves behind his son, Brad (Colleen) Greene; daughters, Misty (Mike) Greene Senanefes and Nicole (Allen) Slaughter; daughter-in-law, Joni Greene; brothers, Charlie (Lorrie) Greene and Paul (Helen) Greene and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 5 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH, where his funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 AM. Rev. Wilford Simeral will officiate, and burial will follow in Northern Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Piney Fork American Legion.
