Larry Veril Miller, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on May 19, 2026.
Born on January 25, 1948, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of SP5. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver for Cleveland-Cliffs in Weirton, West Virginia, where he dedicated 53 years of hard work before retirement.
On April 5, 1969, he married the love of his life, Teresa Barnhart, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, kindness, and helping others.
Larry was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Wellsburg, West Virginia. His faith was reflected in the way he lived every day, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, especially within his church family.
Larry enjoyed tinkering in his garage and shed, mowing his yard and often helping neighbors with theirs, and most of all spending time with his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Miller; his sons, Mike (Carrie) Miller and Brian (Miranda Parr) Miller; his brother, Kenneth Lemoine Miller; his stepbrothers, Ron Hanck, Rob Hanck, Tim Hanck, Tom Hanck, and Pat Hanck and their families; his stepsister, Rebecca Bucey and her family; his sisters-in-law, Marsha Bennett and Sue LaRosa and their families; his grandchildren, Miranda (Lucas) Fowler, Julie (Jake) Bendle, and Nathan (Jessica Ward) Miller; and his great-grandchildren, Olivia and Madeline Fowler, with Madeline expected in August.
He was preceded in death by his father, Veril Miller; his mother, Carol Hanck; his stepmother, Mildred Miller; and his niece, Alyssa LaRosa.
Larry will be remembered as a truly kind and selfless man who would do anything for those he loved. He was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife, Teresa, and a best friend to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He brought warmth and comfort to everyone around him and dearly loved his dog, Bean, who was always close by his side.
His family will forever cherish the example of kindness, humility, faith, and unconditional love that he gave so freely throughout his life.
Family and friends will be received Friday, May 22 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH, where Larry’s funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am. Nathan Marshall will officiate and burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery just outside of Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wellsburg Church of Christ.
