Leah A. Engel, 94, of Sun City Center, FL and Toronto, OH, passed away at the home of her son Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016.
Leah was born Feb. 6, 1922 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Carrie McGrath Armstrong and Robert Phillip (Wade) Armstrong.
She spent her preschool years in Stowe and Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Most of her school years she lived in Steubenville, OH.
During World War II, Leah worked at Weirton Steel. Later she became known as an avid bowler and card player. For many years, Leah was a volunteer with the Sun City Center Security Squad.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Jamison; her brother, Robert Wade Armstrong; a brother, Bob, deceased before her birth; a son, Bradford Engel; her husband, Harry L. (Spike) Engel; and many beloved dogs.
Leah is survived by her son, Ron (Bert) Engel of Toronto; a daughter, Beverly Latalladi of Woodbridge, VA; grandson, Jimmy Engel of Toronto; granddaughter, Jody Allinder (Ryan) of Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Mary L. Crook (Colin) of Hillsboro, OR; grandson, Daniel Latalladi of VA; granddaughters, Carrie L. Hall (Ron) and Amy L. Fulton (Richard), both of VA; and seven great-grandchildren.
Private services and burial for Leah will be held at the convenience of her family. Her arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.
