Lee Edwin Risler of Toronto, OH, went to join the heavenly angels on Feb. 4, 2022.

Lee was born on Dec. 18, 1963, in Steubenville during a heavy snowstorm. Appropriately then his passing occurred during another snow and ice storm.

Lee was a man of faith and a member of the Weirton Covenant Church of Christ. He graduated from Toronto High School, then attended Kent State University.

He had a love of cooking and graduated from The Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. His experience as a chef in Pittsburgh and the tristate area brought many accolades.

Lee was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2011 and fought for years to overcome the many handicaps that brought. Though he was a quiet man, the strength that his faith brought carried through until the pain and suffering became too much. His last months were spent at Carriage Inn with hospice support.

Lee was the son of the late Edwin Risler who passed in 2010, and Mary Risler of Cape Coral, FL, who survives; also surviving are Lees 3 loving daughters, Brianna Risler and Jordyn Risler both of Weirton, WV, and Mykenna Willett of Lakewood, OH. Another child, Caiden Popish, was loved as Lees own. Lee is also survived by his brother, Paul Risler and wife Laura and niece Lydia.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM. Pastor Jim Foglio will officiate, and his burial will be held at the convenience of the family. www.jefosterfh.com
