Lena (Roman) Filippi, 88, of Wintersville, OH, formerly of Piney Fork, OH, passed away Thursday March 14, 2019 in the Sienna Skilled Nursing Home in Wintersville.

Lena was born Feb. 27, 1931 in Italy, daughter of the late Valentino and Santa (Muin) Roman.

She was formerly employed at the Dillonvale Co-Op before working for 20 years as a cook at the former Reynolds Nursing Home in Piney Fork, OH.

Lena was a member of St. Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Dillonvale, OH.

In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Pietro Filippi on March 20, 2006 and her two brothers, Sam and Primo Roman.

Surviving are her two daughters, Arleen (Alan) Broemson and Jo-Ann (Darrell) Keeton both of Wintersville; 4 grandchildren, Lesley Hay, Amber (Daniel) Decker, Britney (Nick) Callahan and Alisha (Randy) Ziadeh; 6 great-grandchildren, Megan Hay, Sadie, Grace and Dylan Callahan, Nicholas and Caden Decker; two sisters, Albina DiDomenico of Italy and Lydia Vallar of Piney Fork.

Visitation will be held on Sunday March 17, 2019 from 3 - 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. Her Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Monday at 10 am at St. Adalbert Church in Dillonvale. Msgr. John Kolesar will celebrate and burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield.

Additional visitation will take place in the rear of the church Monday from 9:15 am until time of the Mass. A Vigil Service will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home at 7:30 pm.
