Obituary

Leona F. " Nonie" Starr, 75, of Toronto, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday Feb. 6, 2009 in Trinity Medical Center West. Nonie was born May 23, 1933 in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late Clarence and Irene Turner Klink. Nonie was an avid seamstress, loved to cook and was a friend to everyone she met. Many people called upon her to take care of their sewing, altering, and clothing repairs. She is a member of the 1st. United Methodist Church in Toronto, and was a long time active member and past president of the Toronto American Legion Post # 86 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Toronto Sunrise Senior Citizens.In addition to her parents, Nonie was preceded in death by her step-mother Athelda Coulter Klink, her brother Jim Klink and her daughter-in-law Sherry Starr. Surviving are her husband of 57 years Clell, whom she married on Aug. 2, 1952, her trusted and beloved dog "Diamond", her children; Bob (Donna) Starr, Dave Starr, Marcita (Bill) Heckathorn, Ruth (Kevin) Blanton, Mary (Neil) Blanton all of Toronto. Her nine grandchildren; Kristen (Matt) Parrish, Joshua and Amy Starr, Heather Heckathorn, Jacob, Shane, and Myranda Blanton. Her three great-grandchildren, Karyn and Kelsey Parrish, and Chase Heckathorn. She is also survived by three sisters, Sandy Raymond of Richmond, Va., Cathy (Doug) Krakau of Hopwood, Pa. and Bobbie Jean (Sam) Mahaffey of Mineral, Va. Two brothers, Jack (Jeannie) Klink of Ravenna, Ohio and Jesse Klink of Markleyburgs, Pa.Friends and family may call on Sunday from 6 -9 pm and on Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto, Ohio; where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate the Service. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. American Legion Auxiliary services will be held on Monday evening at 7:00 pm.
