Leonard S. "Lenny" Crawford, 51, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Sunday Oct. 16, 2011 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. Lenny was born July 27, 1960 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of Mary Dillon Crawford, who survives of Smithfield, OH, and the late Arthur Crawford. Lenny was employed by Jefferson Landmark Co. in Cadiz, OH. He was a long time farm hand for Mark Pesta and also Jack Hamilton. Lenny loved to hunt and enjoyed the outdoors. In addition to his father, Lenny was preceded in death by his sister Rose Wilson and by three brothers, Fred, David, and Raymond. Surviving are his mother Mary Dillon Crawford and his step-father James Wilson of Smithfield, OH; four sisters, Audrey (Arnold) Harris, with whom he resided of Smithfield, OH, Ruth (Ed) Rogers of Richmond, OH, Georgia (Tim) Thompson of Piney Fork, OH and Lucilla Crawford of Dillonvale, OH; three brothers, John Dillon of Scio, OH, Charles (Peggy) Crawford of Cadiz, OH, and Paul (Nancy) Crawford of Rayland, OH; Lenny was also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Visitation for Lenny will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 107 Hill St. Smithfield, OH; Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Carson officiating.
