Lewis J. "Jim" Thompson Sr.,75of Smithfield, Ohio passed away Monday Feb. 20, 2006 in T.M.C.W.He was born June 2, 1930 in McIntyre outside Smithfield, son of the late Samuel and Thelma Atkins Thompson.He was a retired safety inspector at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., with 37 years of service.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Edith Louise West Thompson in 2002, sister Gloria Thompson and brother Clarence Atkins.Surviving are; his children Vanessa Thompson, Kim (Ray) Williams both of Steubenville, Lewis J. "Jamie" (Barbara) Thompson Jr. of Smithfield. Sisters, Barbara McCollins of Steubenville, Virginia Ramsey of Cadiz; Brothers, Floyd (Germaine) Thompson of Smithfield, Craig Thompson of Steubenville, Clement (Audrey) Carey of Mingo, Ernest (Charlotte) Carey of Steubenville. Sister-in-law Lois Atkins of McIntyre, and aunt Pauline West of Steubenville. 6 Grandchildren and6 Great-Grandchildren.Friends and family may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am. up til time of his service at 11:00 am. at theJ.
