Lloyd D. Boyd, 81, of Piney Fork, OH, passed away Monday Aug. 31, 2020, in the Salem Regional Hospital in Salem, OH.

Lloyd was born on Sept. 25, 1938 in Smithfield, OH, son of the late Lloyd H. and Ruth (Burke) Boyd.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., where he worked as a Railroad Engineer and Brakeman.

Lloyd was a member of the Smithfield Friends Church, a graduate of Smithfield High School, an avid golfer and a past member of the Red Oaks and Cadiz Country Clubs. He loved to hunt, and he enjoyed his deer camp.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Boyd.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Ann (Sutherland) Boyd, whom he married Sept. 19, 1959; two sons, David (Kim Crites) Boyd and Douglas (Denise) Boyd both of Steubenville, OH; two daughters, Deborah (Donald) Berry of Lithopolis, OH and Darla (Frank) Hoagland of Piney Fork, OH; four grandchildren, Joshua and Lucas Hoagland, Betsy and Kyle Boyd and two great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Hoagland and Emery Jane Ciraky; three brothers, Richard Boyd of Dillonvale, OH, Isaac (Aloa) Boyd of NC and Kenneth (Kathy) Boyd of NV, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday Sept. 4, 2020 from 4 to 8 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. Lloyds funeral service will be Saturday at 11 am at the Smithfield Friends Church, where there will be additional visitation from 10 to 11 AM. Pastor Mark Carpino will officiate and burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, OH.
