Lorine W. Neely, Jr., 73, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Sunday May 14, 2017 at his home.

Lorine was born Nov. 30, 1943 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late Lorinne and Freida (Bess) Neely.

He was a 1961 graduate of Warren Consolidated High School. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University and a Masters Degree from West Virginia University.

During Lorines career, he taught Math and Science at New Alexandria Elementary, Brilliant Elementary and Adena Elementary in Buckeye Local School District.

Throughout his 25 years teaching and retirement, he greatly valued his friendships with prior students. He created a New Alexandria Elementary Facebook page where students and staff continually share memories and photos.

Lorine enjoyed many hobbies. One of his favorites was riding motorcycles with his buddies. He loved drag racing at Friendship Park. He also enjoyed driving and showing classic cars, and he participated in several local car clubs. His greatest joy was watching his grandkids as they grew up.

In addition to his parents, Lorine was preceded in death by brother, Walter Graham and his sister, Sorelta Zimmer.

Lorine leaves behind his wife, Bonita C. (Corona) Neely whom he married July 1, 1978; his son, Craig (Christy) Neely of Smithfield; his two daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Panepucci of Dillonvale, OH and Patience (Jeff) Zawisa of Bannock, OH; his niece, Brenda (Bruce) Moffo of Connorville, OH and nephew, Walter (Melinda) Graham; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received Friday, May 26, 2017 from 5 -7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Lorines Memorial Service will start at 7 pm with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating.
