Lucille Hughes KramerLucille Hughes Kramer, 74, passed away Saturday August 27, 2005 at The Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville, Ohio. Lucille died peacefully, surrounded by her family, following a long battle with leukemia. A Follansbee, WV native, Lucille was born January 4, 1931 to John and Sue Simonetti. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Lucille worked at Franciscan University for eight years and retired from Teaching in Toronto City School system after 10 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, John "Pat" Hughes.Lucille is survived by her husband, John Kramer, of Steubenville, Ohio, her sister Joyce (Dan) Majestic of McMurray, PA, her brother, John (Lois) Simonetti of New Jersey, her four sons: Patrick (Teresa) Hughes of Columbus, Ron (Ellen) Hughes of Toronto, Kevin (Marsha) Hughes of Toronto, and Christopher (Karen) Hughes of McMurray, PA, her four stepdaughters: Beckey (Albert) Stasiulewicz, Kerrey (Jim) Perry, Susan (Mike) Mehalik all of Steubenville, and Cindi (Doug) Eckley of Wintersville. Seventeen grandchildren: Shawn and Julia Rice of Columbus, Sarah (Art) Trembanis of Newark, DE, Erik (Nicole) Hughes of Ashburn, VA, Ian, Kelsey, and Alexandra Hughes of Toronto, Meredith and Christian Hughes of McMurray, Pa., Sarah and Stacy Stasiulewicz, Katelyn and Logan Perry, Shaney (Tracy) Clifton, Monica Sickles, Lindsay Kazienko, and Meghan Mehalik. Two great-grandchildren: Ella Trembanis and Ty Clifton.. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews.An avid reader and retired schoolteacher, Lucille had a great passion for education. After her retirement, she became an ardent advocate for autism awareness, promoting autism support and educational programs throughout the Ohio Valley.She loved to travel with her beloved sister Joyce. Among their many trips, Lucille dearly treasured their two visits to Italy, where they met their cousins and explored their parents' birthplace. Lucille was a loving and devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Mother-in-law. She touched many lives with her kindness and generous spirit. She enriched the lives of her many friends and family and provided them with immeasurable comfort and support. Lucille always thought of others before herself. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A devout Catholic, Lucille was a member of St. Pius Church in Steubenville. While a resident of Toronto, she was an active member of St. Francis Church and a supporter of St. Francis School. Friends and family may call on Monday evening from 6-9 pm. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc. 701 Findley St. Toronto; where a blessing Service will be held on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am. followed by Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 am. at St. Francis Church on Findley St. in Toronto. Msgr. Kurt Kemo and Father Leonard Cencula will Concelebrate the Mass and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
