Malvina I. Molly Carter, 90, of Toronto, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday Dec. 5, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Molly was born April 15, 1925 in Adena, OH, daughter of the late Gabriel and Elizabeth (Shaffer) Erdos.
Molly retired after 22 years as a nurses aid at Trinity East Hospital in Steubenville, OH.
She was an active member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto where she was a member and past treasure of the CWC. She also was a member of the Sunrise Sr. Citizens Club.
Molly was a homeroom mother at Lincoln School for her three children, a band mother at Toronto High School, when Sandy played in the band, and a Den mother for Cub Scout pack at the Christian Church, when Gary was a Cub Scout.
In addition to her parents, Molly was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil W. Carter on May 17, 1969; her son, Gary L. Carter on Dec. 19, 1997; her three sisters, Anna Lyons, Elizabeth Tabacchi, Rose Burkhardt; her four brothers, Michael, Gabriel, Joseph and Steve Erdos.
Surviving is her daughter, Sandy (Don) Ickes of Uhrichsville, OH, her son, Virgil J. (Cathy) Carter of Richmond, OH, sister-in-law Linda Carter and brother-in-law Richard (Barbara) Carter all of Toronto; daughter-in-law Shirley (Al) Kinyo of Bloomingdale, OH; three grandchildren, Nicole (Rob) McDonald of Steubenville, Troy (Beth) Carter of Parma, OH and Garett Carter of Gahanna, OH; four great-grandchildren, Madolyn and Bobby McDonald and Drew and Gabriel Carter; four step-grandchildren, Shelly Morvay of Hilliard, OH, Mike (Kathryn) Ickes of Chesterland, OH, Ron(Dawnel) Dayton of Wintersville, OH and Joe (Tara) Dayton of Medina, OH; eight step-great-grandchildren, Sophia Morvay, Halie and Anna Dayton, Nathan, Matthew and Noah Ickes and Eli and Jacob Dayton.
Visitation for Molly will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday at St. Joseph R.C. Church on N. River Ave. in Toronto from 9 am til time of Mollys Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 am. Father Thomas Vennitti will Celebrate her Mass and burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH. Vigil service will be held on Tuesday at 6 pm at the funeral home.
