Mary Ann (Bodnar) Allen, 78, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.

Mary Ann was born April 22, 1944, in Steubenville, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Zamborsky) Allen.

Mary Ann was a 1962 graduate of Toronto High School. Prior to marriage she worked as a beautician. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto.

She was a devoted advocate for children with disabilities and she also volunteered with the Steubenville Literacy Program tutoring children and adults.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Allen, Sr., her son, Jimmy Allen, Jr., whom she dedicated her life to his care; seven sisters, Dorothy Brettell, Theresa Byers, Catherine McConnell, Eleanor Garren, Helen Lucas, Monica Lindamood, and Margaret Byers; three brothers, George, Mike, and John Bodnar.

Mary Ann leaves behind many Bodnar and Allen nieces and nephews whom she all loved.

A private burial will be held at the Hammondsville Cemetery. Her arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
