Mary Jane Demko, 83, of Stratton, OH, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.Mary Jane was born on July 18, 1928 in Stratton, OH, daughter of the late George and Mary (Karaffa) Demko. Mary Jane was a member of St. Joseph Byzantine Church in Toronto, OH, where she was a member of the Choir. She was retired from Ohio Edison where she worked as an office supervisor. Mary Jane was also a member of the Toronto High School Alumni Association. In addition to her parents Mary Jane was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Demko and Ann Manning. Mary Jane is survived by her sister, Agnes Demko of Stratton, OH; her nieces Marcia (Michael) Lewis of Toronto, OH and Nancy (David) Robinson of Owasso, OK; her great-niece Chelsea; great-great nieces Madison, Gia, Gabriella, Riley, Scarlett and Arden; her great-nephews Matthew, Ryan and Adam; great-great nephews Jack and Aiden. Visitation for Mary Jane will be held on Wednesday, January 4 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Family and friends will gather again on Thursday morning at 10:30am at the funeral home followed by her Solemn Divine Liturgy at 11am at St. Joseph Byzantine Church in Toronto with Fr. James Atkins as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. There will be a Parastas Service held on Wednesday at 3:45pm.
