IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Catherine
Doran
July 24, 1936 – March 28, 2020
Mary Catherine (Mary Kay) Doran passed away, peacefully, on Saturday March 28, 2020 in Steubenville, OH in the Valley Hospice Care Center North. She was 83.
Mary Kay was born in Toronto, OH on July 24, 1936, daughter of the late Hugh J. and Mary (Murray) Doran. She attended St. Francis grade school in Toronto and graduated in 1954 from Catholic Central High School in Steubenville.
She enjoyed a full career as an administrative assistant for many organizations including the Jefferson County Records Department and the University of Connecticut Law School.
She loved reading, telling (and hearing) a good story, visiting Boston and Ireland, picking out a great gift for a friend or relative, listening to music, and watching baseball. She was a long-time member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto.
In addition to her parents, Mary Kay was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh, Jack and Tom; sisters-in-law Zelda, Charlotte and Peggotty; nephew Tommy; and grand nephew Leo.
Mary Kay is survived by her brother, Jim Doran of West Hartford, CT; her sisters-in-law Barbara Barnes Doran of Toronto and Mai Helen Doran of Houston, TX; many nieces and nephews including Jimmy, Honey, Helen, Geri, Dan, Steve, Mike, Chris, Beth, and Wendy; and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Our thanks to her first cousin, Marlene (Murray) Mehalko who was so kind and caring for Mary during her last few years, as her health, memory, and faculties declined.
We wish to thank the doctors, attendants, and other staff members at Carriage Inn, Trinity Hospital, and Valley Hospice for their care and attention to Mary Kay over the past one and a half years.
Mary Kays arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, service and/or burial arrangements are being postponed at this time.
No flowers, please. Memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice of charities in memory of Mary Kay Doran. www.jefosterfh.com
